Lot consists of: (A) Remington 1858 New Model Army percussion revolver. Made 1863-1875. Patent dates on the top of the barrel are illegible. Inspector stamps "W" can be seen on the barrel and "J" on the loading lever. Octagon Steel barrel with a blade front sight. Gun has been refinished with a heavy nickel plating. Hardwood grips are unfinished. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its finish with areas of wear and patina. Grips are very good with minor handling marks. Fair bore with some light pitting and fair rifling. Mechanically operable. Nipples show signs of heavy use. Hammer is tight. Cylinder shows some light wobble. (B) Remington New Model Police percussion revolver. Made 1865-1873. Barrel marked " PATENTED SEPT 14 1858/E.REMINGTON & SONS ILION NEW YORK. U.S./ NEW MODEL" on the top. Inspector stamp "J" on the trigger guard. Octagon steel barrel with blade front sight. Case hardened frame with a blued finish. Hardwood grips. CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish with mild wear and patina. Grips are good with minor wear and handling marks. Good bore overall with sharp rifling left. Mechanically inoperable, as the loading lever is not indexing with the chambers, meaning its unable to load. Hammer and cylinder are tight. JWA
