(A) Whitney No2 Sporting Rifle chambered for .32 Rim Fire.26 inch tapered octagon barrel with 2 piece straight grained walnut stock with ebony tip and steel butt plate. Blade front sight and elevator adjustable rear sight. This rifle is accompanied with a US Dept of Indian Affairs/ Indian Police approval for sale firearms tag. This rifle is from the North East Montana area and the badge has been with the rifle since acquisition by the previous owner. CONDITION. Rifle is is in fair condition with evidence of hard use and having an evenly worn appearance. The bore is dark and the action needs attention to operate properly. The badge has a very fine period patina and is attached with a contemporary leather thong. Stamped with the approval number 462. unique offering. (B) Marlin Ballard single shot rifle with 30 inch round barrel and chambered for a 40 cal, center fire cartridge. 40/65 - 40/70 ? . Blade front sight with elevator adjustable rear sight and fixed post Marlin tag sight. Two piece walnut stocks with crescent butt. Condition fair with good bore with slight roughness in grooves. Worn wood stocks with slight material losses at edges of forearm and numerous small bruises and cracks in bytt. An attractive western used single shot.
