Triplett and Scott Repeating Carbine with 22" round barrel, volley rear sight, and blade front. Chambered in .50 Rimfire with three groove rifling. Tang is marked "TRIPLETT & SCOTT PATENT DEC. 6, 1864" left side of receiver marked "MERIDEN MAN'FG CO. MERIDEN, CONN." left of breech marked "KENTUCKY." Plain, walnut stock and forearm with military style buttplate with sling swivels on top and bottom. CONDITION: Good, blued parts faded to a brown patina overall with scattered freckling and heavy freckling on barrel near muzzle. Receiver has faded to a speckled, dull-gray patina. Wood is fair to good, with heavy dents, scratches and gouges throughout from use and handling and darkness throughout from oil and sweat but retains most of its original finish. Cracks near buttplate, tubular magazine, and tang. Action works correctly. Bore is worn with visible rifling and heavy freckling near muzzle. -TN-
