Savage Model 45 Super Sporter bolt action rifle. Made in the 1930's as a affordable hunting rifle. Approximately 6,000 of the fancier Model 45's were made before being discontinued in 1940. Rifled, round steel barrel with a front post and standard rear leaf sight. The Lyman rear sight originally found on this rifle is missing. Original blued finish on the barrel and receiver. Original hardwood sock with oil finish and checkering on the forend and pistol grip. Over the stock rubber butt pad and aftermarket sling. Original steel buttplate under the rubber butt pad. Comes with the original ".30-06/Springfield" marked magazine. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with general wear and handling marks. Stock is very good with minor scratches and dings. There is a large chunk of wood missing on the heel of the stock, where the buttplate and wood meet. Shootable bore with sharp rifling left. Mechanically fine. Sling and magazine are very good. JWA
