(A) US Model 1860 cavalry saber marked on the ricasso "U.S. / 1865 / A.G.M." and "C Roby Chelmsford Mass" on the reverse, leather grip with twisted wire wrap. Steel scabbard with double ring mounts. CONDITION: Bright blade with traces of sharpening and areas of light pitting. Leather grip is excellent, tight wire wrap. Steel scabbard a mix of smooth grey / dark finishes, undented. (B) World War II Japanese army Shin-Gunto sword with 26-1/2" blade displaying a straight temper line. Standard grip and mounts, pommel displays a company grade tassel. Scabbard missing its brass drag but with period leather replacement. CONDITION: Blade is mostly bright with some cloudy patches and very small edge nicks. Grip is very good showing period use and staining. Scabbard shows heavy use with denting, scratches and paint losses. DG
