Top cover marked "KORJ 1943" over "AM" in lozenge, SA in rectangle at front of cover. 1886 at rear of top cover. Several small parts have been renumbered to 1886 from previous numbers. No Russian proof. Rear sight with serrated adjustment pieces graduated to 2000 meters. Bolt with mixed numbers. Chambered in 7.62x54R. Brass trunnion numbered on top, under top cover. Mounted on a Finnish Maxim tripod, numbered 55487. CONDITION: Water jacket is painted in OD green with some flaking revealing steel underneath and some brassing to high edges with some patination to steel. Checkered wooden grips. Brass has acquired an attractive dark mustard patina. Some areas of oxidation to parts throughout. Strong mechanics with good spring tension, bore is good with strong rifling. Tripod has been repainted in OD green commensurate which water jacket, perhaps a slightly darker shade; some small parts appear replaced as they are not painted green. Some areas of oxidation throughout commensurate with gun, one particular area of roughness at rear leg. An attractive example that should have a sideplate mounted to it. EW
