Lot consists of: (A) Colt Model 1855 Root Model 2 Sidehammer Revolver manufactured in 1856. Fitted with 3 - 1/2 inch octagon barrel with Hartford address, front pin front sight and V notch rear sight. Rifled for .28 caliber balls. Blued with walnut one piece grips. Case colored hammer and loading lever. Single action percussion revolver with five shot cylinder engraved with cabin fight scene, and spur trigger. CONDITION: Fine. Retaining majority of original finish in protected areas, areas of loss and silvering on barrel, top strap and grip strap conducive of holster wear. Scattered small abrasions. Cylinder scene sharp but impeded by several impression. Grips likely sanded and slightly shy to strap with chips at toe and heel. Matching numbers on butt cylinder and under loading lever. Functions properly when cycled by hand. Bore excellent with crisp rifling. (B) Colt No. 3 Standard Model Derringer. Standard 2 - 2/2 inch rifled .41 rimfire swing out barrel marked "COLT" with half moon front sight. Two piece walnut grips. Silver plated bronze frame with spur trigger. CONDITION. Very Good. Barrel exhibits gray patina with freckling at spots and an impression from hammer. Frame retains a substantial amount silver finish in protected areas with majority losses on sides and backstrap, and additional small abrasions. Grips in excellent condition with minor impressions and wear. Functions properly. Bore fair with strong rifling and some pitting toward breech. BAS
