Springfield Model 1873 Single-Shot Carbine with 22" round barrel, chambered in .45-70 Government. Buffington rear sight with "C" marking on upper right and blade front sight. Has been fitted with an 1884 breechblock. 1-piece wooden stock with saddle ring and military style butttplate marked "US" with butttrap containing shell extractor but no rod. Faint "ESA" military inspector cartouche on left side of stock at wrist. CONDITION: Very good as refinished. Numerous handling marks and wear throughout with freckling from poor storage namely at lockplate and buttplate. Stock is good as sanded and refinished with dents, dings, scratches and gouges throughout but remains strong with no discernible cracks. Action works correctly. Bore is bright with worn but visible rifling. -TN-
