Lot consists of: (A) Model 1863 Springfield Civil War rifled musket made in 1863 by Colt in Hartford, Connecticut. In the white finished rifled round barrel with rear flip sight and blade front marked with "VP (Eagle head)" proofs with 1863 date. Percussion lock marked "Colt's P.T.F.A. Mfg. Co. Hartford, CT." with "US" above it and "1863" at rear of lock. "US" marked buttplate. Walnut full military stock with iron furniture including three barrel bands. Comes with "US" marked bayonet and original steel ramrod. CONDITION: Good with metal fading to brown patina. Wood has dry appearance with no visible repairs or cracks. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Good mechanics. (B) World War II K98 Mauser bolt action rifle made in 1942 at Mauser Werkes in Oberndorf. Military finished round rifled barrel with hooded front sight and matching number rear military sight with crisp Waffennampf. Blued action with "byf 42" code date with all matching bolt. Laminated full military stock with cup buttplate marked "gpm" with Waffenampf. Steel stock hardware with matching numbers to action including trigger guard assembly. Stock has no markings visible. CONDITION: Metal shows condition with age with a light coat of surface rust, but no pitting. Stock looks to have been cleaned and there is a slight problem with recoil lug being assembled wrong. Good bore with sharp lands and grooves. Good mechanics. Good out of the attic World War II Mauser. DLM
