Serial number 1897, which falls in the accepted range between 1019 and 9975 having possibly been acquired by the Confederacy. Bead front sight, rear sight intro to top strap. Octagonal barrel with proofs offset, consisting of "LAC" and London view and proof marks. Left side of frame with "LONDON / ARMOURY", right side with "KERR'S PATENT 1897". 1897 repeating on cylinder, which also has appropriate British proofing on chambers. Back action lock signed "LONDON ARMOURY". Checkered 1-piece walnut grips. Rotatable lanyard loop. CONDITION: Good. Metal has acquired a pleasing chocolate brown patina throughout with a few areas of freckling, and some flashes of blue on the barrel in protected areas. Action needs some attention as lifter hand is not rotating the cylinder when hammer is pulled back. Grips are very good with a few areas of abrasion and an extra coat of varnish added at one point.
