Late model Henry Rifle manufactured in 1865, serial number 8161. Standard 24" barrel with integral magazine tube. Plain straight grain walnut stock with later style brass buttplate with pointed heel. Sling swivels on left side of barrel and left side of stock. Serial number 8161 observed on top barrel flat at the breech, inside lower tang, stock top tang channel, and inside buttplate at the toe. No serial or assembly number is present on barrel inside the loading gate. Rear barrel sight is a replacement. Some screws are replacements. Magazine follower spring is a replacement. CONDITION: Very fine overall with partial reconditioning. Barrel is excellent showing areas of refinishing. Bore is dark. Frame is excellent and clean showing a beautiful unpolished mustard color patina. -MKS-
