1853 vintage Upper Canada Marked London Colt 1851 Navy percussion revolver, serial number 32851. 7 - 1/2" octagon barrel in .36 caliber with notched hammer rear sight and cone front sight. Colt London barrel address on top flat. Iron backstrap. Matching serial numbers on frame, trigger guard, backstrap, barrel, cylinder, arbor, and wedge. British proof and view markings on each chamber of cylinder as well as left side of barrel. 1 piece, plain walnut grips marked with "UC" / "I" / "1" on left side with British proof on right side of grip near the trigger bow. Comes with a period leather holster marked "UC" / "I" / "28" which appears to be original. CONDITION: Very good, with freckling and wear from use with blued parts fading to a dull-gray patina. Very faint traces of color on case hardened assemblies and parts. Cylinder scene is faint but is still visible with safety pins still intact. Wedge and frame screws are replacements. Grips are very good with areas of abrasion and moderate dents on right grip panel. Holster is dry yet pliant. Overall covered with a black, tar like substance which was possibly used as protection against harsh elements. Stitching is holding together nicely and appears to be original. Action works correctly when cycled by hand. Bore is bright with heavy areas of corrosion and sharp rifling. -TN-
