Lot consists of: (A) French-made flintlock smoothbore pistol made in Charleville, France. This scarce Model 1763 flint pistol is marked "Libreville" instead of Charleville, which indicates it was made during the French Revolution when Charleville was renamed "Libreville". Smoothbore round barrel with large 2-band iron nosepiece. Original flintlock marked "Mve" "Rle" "Libreville". Walnut stock with iron furniture with "A" marked inside trigger guard. CONDITION: Overall good with metal turning a silvery patina. Wood has oil-soaked appearance with small crack near trigger guard and what looks to be filler around sideplate. Dark bore full of cosmoline. Good mechanics. Missing ramrod. (B) Rare French Cavalry pistol made in Brescia, Italy in 1807. Round, smoothbore barrel with tang dated 1807 and Italian and French proofs. Original flintlock with brass pan marked "Mve Rle De Brescia" Walnut stock with brass hardware with "II7" stamped on left side. CONDITION: Overall good with metal showing some pitting. Wood has oil-soaked look with crack on left side in front of sideplate. Brass trigger guard has crack and has been cleaned. Dark bore full of cosmoline. Lock mechanism is a little sticky. DLM
