Gun (A) is a percussion conversion on an 1826 S. North belt hook Navy pistol with swivel ramrod. Marked on the lock "U.S./ S. NORTH". Typical "cone-in-barrel" or "Belgian" type conversion with nipple screwed directly into the top of the barrel. Belg hook on the left side. CONDITION: Retains a pleasing patina overall with light rust and minor pitting. Markings are clear. Wood has some dings and handling marks. Bore is dark with light pitting. Good mechanical function, although mainspring is a bit weak. Lock screws may be old replacements. Gun (B) is an 1842 Model Ames boxlock. Dated 1843 on the barrel and lock. CONDITION: All metal surfaces have been cleaned, barrel and lock appear to have been touched up. Markings are worn but legible. Wood has been refinished and has several repairs and replaced pieces. Nipple is a newer replacement. Lock is in good working order. GR
