British Pattern 1853 Enfield percussion rifle with lock dated 1864. Round rifled barrel with blade front sight and notched rear sight. Percussion lock dated 1864 with "Crown" and "Enfield" markings. Walnut wood stock with 3 steel barrel bands and brass hardware. Steel ramrod. Gun like these were used throughout the world at this time and by both sides on the American Civil War. This one bears no markings indicating that. CONDITION: Overall good with metal turning dark brown and wood having an oil soaked appearance with usage marks and dings. Dark bore full of cosmoline with good mechanics. DLM
