Joslyn Civil War Model 1864 Carbine professionally turned into a single shot shotgun. Blued smoothbore barrel marked "Cast Steel" on top of barrel with missing bead front sight. Typical Joslyn action with percussion lock marked "Joslyn Fire Arms Co. Stonington, Conn. 1864". Original iron sideplate with plugged holes for removed saddle ring bar. Walnut stock with "US" marked buttplate. Barrel held with pin and original barrel band removed. CONDITION: Metal parts turning a brown patina with some light surface blemishes. Wood has been cleaned and oiled with some cracks developing near buttplate. Bore is dark and pitted. Good mechanics. Interesting gun. DLM
