Lot consists of: (A) French Charleville musket with modifications dated 1822. Rifled, in-the-white finished, round barrel with blade front sight and fixed notched rear sight mounted on tang which is dated 1822 with mount for socket bayonet. Original flint plate marked "Mve Rle de Charleville" converted to percussion. Walnut full musket stock with three iron bands including a double-banded front. Stock has iron furniture and is marked on right side with Crown over "C", "ST. ETIENNE" AND "CHATT------" with ringed markings around what appears to be a grease hole. Stock also stamped "Chattead" on toe with dished out cheek. CONDITION: Metal having surface pitting blemishes is turning a silvery patina. Wood has no visible repairs or restoration and is oil-soaked. Usual usage dings and marks. Dark bore full of cosmoline. Good mechanics. (B) Swedish Model 1845 rifled percussion musket built by Husquavarna in Sweden. Rifled, round, in-the-white finish barrel with blade front sight and notched banded brass rear sight with barrel stamped with an "H". Barrel, tang, buttplate, and lock all have matching numbers. Percussion lock with safety catch lever "H" marked and dated 1845. Hardwood stock with brass furniture having tag giving particulars on rifle on left side. Stock stamped on left lock plate area with proof and "1845". CONDITION: Overall good with metal surfaces having some light surface pitting. Wood has added finish with no visible restoration or repairs. Dark bore full of cosmoline. Good mechanics. DLM
