Lot consists of: (A) Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor made in 1886. Blued round barrel with blade front sight and adjustable rear sight marked with an "R". Blued breechblock marked "Model 1873 US". Casehardened lock marked with "Eagle and US Springfield". Walnut stock with steel hardware and "US" marked buttplate. Cartouche on left side of stock. Comes with socket type "US" marked bayonet and period black leather sling. CONDITION: Metal has 60% original finish with wood having been cleaned and cartouche is illegible. Sling good with light cracking. Bayonet and rear barrel band have old coat of added finish. Shootable bore and good mechanics. (B) Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor rifle made in 1892. Blued round barrel with hooded front sight and Buffington rear sight. Case hardened breechblock marked Model 1884. Blued lock marked with eagle and "US Springfield". Walnut stock with ramrod bayonet and blued 1-piece trigger guard with "SWP 1892" cartouche and various rack numbers. CONDITION: 60% overall blue with fading areas wear carried. Wood has extra coat of varnish with handling marks and dings. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
