Manufactured 1918. Half moon front sight, U notch beveled rear sight. Right side with "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY", 2 line 2 block patent dates and information in serif font, Rampant Colt at rear. "H" stamped at top of firing pin retaining plate channel, "ZZ" and "H" stamped inside channel. Barrel with parallel "P H" stamp. Inverted "T" on right side of barrel lug, "D" in front. "P" and "G" on top of frame, near disconnector hole. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" on left side of dust cover. JMG inspection above magazine release. Checkered magazine release, left side only safety, and spurred hammer. Serrated slide release. Short 1911 grip safety. Flat smooth mainspring housing with lanyard loop. 2 tone 2 rivet magazine with "A" on baseplate lip. Truncated diamond walnut grips. CONDITION: Very good, retaining much of the blue finish with nice shadowing around Colt pony and inspector stamp. Some discoloration around frame around trigger guard and grips, as if from heat. Some patina to front and rear grip straps. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling. EW
