Round top U-notch rear sight with half moon front sight. Right side with "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". 2 line 2 block patent and address information, last patent date 1911. Rampant Colt in circle at rear of slide. Perpendicular "H" at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Barrel with "H" at top of barrel hood. "H" and "Q" inspector marks at top of disconnector. Right side of dust cover with serial number ahead of slide stop hole. Left side with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and "WGP" inspector stamp above magazine release. Checkered slide release, left side only safety, magazine release, and spurred trigger. Short 1911 safety. Long milled trigger. Smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Truncated diamond walnut grips. Full blue magazine with 2 pin based and lanyard loop. Accompanied by an RIA 1911 dated holster and a Colt factory letter indicating delivery June 22nd, 1912, to the San Antonio Arsenal Commanding Officer. Additional note identifies the C/O as Colonel Charles H. Clark. CONDITION: Good considering the age of the piece. Retains approximately half of the Colt fire blued finish with wear on reciprocating areas, grip straps, and high edges, along with holster wear. Takedown mark. Top of the rear sight has been recontoured and is now totally silver. Barrel hood polished to in the white. Action works appropriately, bore has strong rifling but oxidation throughout. Leather is supple with crazing throughout and soft tenderness to joints. EW
