Streaked and lightly fiddleback figure straight English style stock checkered at the wrist in point pattern with vacant silver oval at belly and terminating in a rubber recoil pad. Stock is cast off. Housed in a leather case with "JJC" on brass oval on lid and Bland trade label in lid. Accessories comprise two snap caps, oil bottle, mop, brush, screw tip head, and two spent shells for use as snap caps. CONDITION: Very good as partly rehabilitated. Barrel retain the vast majority of a top quality re-bluing job, likely done at time of reproof. Barrels have a few minor marks from handling and use since re-blue, and there are a few minor areas of roughage under the blue, primarily where forend would have connected. Ghosts in rib. Forend is very good, with exterior metal polished, resulting in a softening to engraving; wood is very good with a few very minor marks. Action is very good with a few flashes of case color in protected areas such as behind recoil shields. Trigger guard is very good with crisp engraving. Stock is very good with a few minor marks and an extremely well-executed splice repair along length of spine, with an extra layer of varnish. Butt pad partly crystallized. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bores are very good, bright and shiny. Ejectors are in time. Case is very good with some scuffs to exterior from use and some compressions of lining. Accessories are very good with some light evidence of use. Trade label replaced. EW/CP
