These colorful five panel window displays were sent to Winchester Retailers as P.O.P promotion, starting March 1920 and ran for 8 years, ending on December 1928. The first seven sets were printed only on one side. After September 1920, each panel was printed on both sides displaying two different scenes. Each scene was displayed for a specific week of each month, for display purposes the "Winchester Week" was Wednesday through Thursday. The first five panel Window was titled "Winchester Junior Rifle Corps." and was displayed on March 4-10, 1920. The five panel Window Display being offered in this sale is titled: "DUCK HUNTING FROM BOAT" and was displayed the week of October 14-20, 1920. The opposite side of this display is titled: "STOVES AND HEATERS" and was displayed the week of October 21-27, 1920. Unfortunately the second (and probably most important) panel of this set is missing. The missing panel portrays a duck hunter in a "layout" boat, firing a Winchester Model 1897 Slide Action Shotgun at Mallard ducks in the following panels. CONDITION: Excellent overall with bright vibrant colors. Most of the panels have torn corners, the last panel #5 being the worst with both top corners torn and a couple of tears along the edges. Could possibly be repaired. The five panel frame is not original, however very well made. Overall a most colorful display. -MKS-
