Swiss K31 straight-pull bolt action carbine manufactured by Waffenfabrik Bern in 1942. Simpson LTD. import stamp is present on the right side of the receiver. Receiver is marked with the Swiss coat of arms over the chamber with the serial number on the left receiver wall. Swiss arsenal proofs are visible on the barrel, barrel bands, and stock. Matching numbers include the receiver, bolt, barrel, and magazine. Leather K31 sling is marked "F. BERLINGER / SATTLER / NESSLAU / 40" as well as with the Swiss coat of arms on the other side. Complete with brass muzzle cap. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original blue finish, showing light surface rust all around. Buttplate retains a gray patina and shows some oxidation. Bore is bright, and retains well defined rifling throughout. Stock shows numerous small and scattered handling marks, but retains the vast majority of it's original varnish. A nice example of a Swiss carbine that served Switzerland's military for 25 years. MLW
