Lot consists of: (A) Lefever "Nitro Special" side by side double made by Ithaca Gun Company Ithaca, New York in 1922. Blued "Nitro Special" fluid steel barrels with matted rib, bead front sight, and extractors. Marked "4" and "0" on barrel flats for "Full" and "Imp Cyl" chokes. Casehardened boxlock frame with automatic safety and double triggers. Walnut checkered semi-pistol grip stock with black bakelite buttplate. Walnut checkered splinter forearm with friction release. CONDITION: 80%+ blue on barrels with some small handling marks. Great bores. 70% fading case colors with wear on carry areas. 70% original varnish with light usage marks and dings. Gun locks up tight with good mechanics. Nice gun. (B) Ithaca NID Field Grade with "Star" markings made for only several years prior to the Great Depression. This gun was made by Ithaca in 1928. Blued "Smokeless Powder Steel" barrels with matted rib, bead front sight, and extractors. Casehardened boxlock action with pointing dog engraving, cocking indicators and "Star" cuts on each side of frame and hinge pins. Double triggers and automatic safety. Walnut checkered pistol grip stock with black grip cap and rubber vented recoil pad. Walnut checkered splinter forearm with latch release. CONDITION: 80% barrel blue with usage wear on carry areas and corners. 30% fading case colors turning to a plum color. Wood has added finish with repaired crack on left side of tang and small chip out of behind tang. Good bores and lock up. Good mechanics. DLM
