Pattern 1853 rifled musket made by Tower in England in 1862. Weapons were used by both North and South in the American Civil War. In the white round rifled barrel with blade front sight and rear graduated flip sight to 900 yards with barrel having British proofs at rear of breech. Percussion lock marked "Tower" over "1862" and marked at rear with a "Crown". Walnut full military stock with brass hardware and 3 iron barrel bands. Stock has illegible stampings on comb in front of buttplate. Replaced steel ramrod. CONDITION: Metal parts have pitted surfaces with evidence of heavy usage. Wood has oil-soaked appearance with heavy usage marks and dings. Dark pitted bore with functioning mechanics. DLM
