1869 Vintage Winchester Model 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine serial number 25452. 20" round barrel with full-length magazine tube. Chambered in .44 RF. Replaced "buckhorn" rear barrel sight. Left side of frame marked two lines "U.P.R.R. / 13" Saddle ring with staple on left side of frame. Plain straight grain walnut stock and forearm. Brass carbine style buttplate. CONDITION: Very good overall. Barrel is mostly a gunmetal grey patina. Frame has a nice, mellow, honey-color patina with rounded corners. Bore is turning dark with abrasions. Stock has been refinished with repairs two places on right side of wrist. Large repair to the comb heel. Forearm has been sanded, showing moderate to heavy wear. -MKS-
