Classic Civil War percussion breech loading carbine with 21" .54 caliber rifled barrel. Blued barrel witted with rear leaf sight and front blade. Case hardened receiver and breech. Walnut stocks marked with 2 cartouches at wrist and fitted with iron barrel band, rear sling swivel, and crescent butt plate. CONDITION: Very good. Retains significant amount of thinning finish and case colors, with sizable portions retained in protected areas, with other areas exhibiting a soft brown/gray patina. Stocks show scattered usage marks and dings. Butt plate slightly proud to stock, especially at toe with some slight loss there. Excellent bore with strong rifling. Crisp mechanics. Matching serial numbers marked on receiver and breech. BAS
