Winchester Model 1885 "Lo-wall" Winder Musket single shot rifle with "U.S." marking used by United States as training tool from 1918 to 1922. Made by Winchester Repeating Arms in New Haven, Connecticut in the early 1920's. Blued round rifled barrel with integral blade ramp front sight with Lyman No. 41 receiver sight with Winchester address and patent dates with caliber ".22 Short" marking near breech. Blued "Lo-wall" receiver with "U.S." and Flaming Bomb cartouche behind the hammer. Walnut plain military style buttstock with blued buttplate and sling swivel. Walnut finger groove forestock with blued barrel band and sling swivel. CONDITION: 90% original blue with light handling marks and sharp markings. Nice screws. 70% fading varnish with storage dings and marks. Great bore with sharp rifling and good mechanics. DLM
