1873 vintage Winchester Model 1866 Rifle, serial number 110297. 24" octagon barrel with full length magazine tube. Chambered in .44 rimfire. Plain straight grain walnut stock and forearm. Rifle style crescent buttplate. Blue with brass frame, buttplate, and forearm cap. Case hardened hammer and loading lever. Sling provisions on stock and forearm cap. CONDITION: Very good overall. Barrel and magazine tube are mostly a brown patina with traces of original blue. Brass has a most attractive unpolished mustard color patina with edges rounded from heavy use. Wood shows heavy use, has been sanded with finish added. Forearm has sections of wood missing along the top, on both sides. Bore is turning dark with strong rifling. Action is tight. Overall a very colorful rifle showing heavy, but honest use. -MKS-
