Classic Civil War repeating rifle manufactured 1863 to 1864, which feeds metallic cartridges from a 7 round magazine housed in the butt. Fitted with standard 30" blued barrel mounted with rear ladder sight and front sight blade which doubles as a bayonet lug. Case hardened lever action receiver marked with Spencer address and 1860 patent date. Walnut stock fixtures include three barrel bands, center with sling swivel, rear sling swivel and trap butt plate for magazine. CONDITION: Very Good. Metal retains portions of original finish in protected areas, including lever, with majority exhibiting a mottled gray/brown patina. Stocks sanded with a few scattered use marks one larger abrasion at wrist and a minor stress crack on left side emanating from the butt. Butt plate slightly proud to stock, especially at toe. Good bore with strong rifling. Good mechanics. BAS
