1867-1868 vintage Manhattan Series V percussion revolver, serial number 5386. Matching serial number on barrel, wedge, frame, trigger guard, bottom of grip, and cylinder pin. 6 - 1/2" barrel with 2 line Newark, NJ address in .36 caliber with hammer notch rear sight and German silver blade front. 12 cylinder stop slot, 6 shot cylinder with roll engraved cylinder scene featuring 5 ovals with floral borders and "Spring Plate" on front of recoil shield. 1 piece plain walnut grips with brass trigger guard. CONDITION: Good, with almost all of the original finish turning to a dove gray patina with freckling throughout. Brass and cylinder have been polished, leaving the cylinder scene inside of the ovals indistinct. Grips retain most of their original varnish and have some shrinkage from age but are strong with only minor dents and dings throughout. Action works correctly when cycled by hand. Bore has visible rifling with corrosion throughout. -TN-
