1864-1867 vintage Manhattan Series IV percussion revolver, serial number 45501, retailed by B. Kittredge & Co. out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Matching serial numbers on bottom of grip, trigger guard, and frame. 4" octagon barrel in .36 caliber with hammer notch rear sight and German silver blade front. 5 shot, 10 cylinder stop notch cylinder with roll engraved cylinder scene featuring 5 ovals with different scenes in them with floral background. 1 piece plain walnut grips with silver plated brass trigger guard and grip strap. CONDITION: Very good, barrel has been polished with freckling throughout. Cylinder pin and cylinder are spuriously marked to have matching serial numbers with the rest of the gun. Silver plating on grip strap is beginning to tarnish to a black patina and fade leaving exposed brass on high edges. Grips are very good with most of their original varnish and dents and dings, but remain strong. Action works correctly when cycled by hand. Spring plate is missing from recoil shield. Bore is bright with corrosion and visible, faint rifling. -TN-
