Metropolitan Police Model percussion revolver manufactured circa 1864-1866 as a copy of the Colt 1862 Police revolver. 6-1/2" .31 caliber round blued barrel and a half fluted 5 shot cylinder. Case hardened frame and hammer. Fitted with brass grips straps and 2 piece walnut grips. CONDITION: Very Good. Traces of bluing and case colors retained in protected areas with large areas exhibiting gray patina. Hammer retains sizable portion of case colors. Scattered freckling throughout. Grips show wear with various handling marks, some finish loss and slight losses to the toe. Bore good with strong rifling with some spots of corrosion. Numbers matching on frame, straps, cylinder, barrel, loading lever and wedge. Wedge loose. Indexes correctly. BAS
