Manufactured 1944 as per Colt Factory letter. Serrated slope front sight, square notch rear sight, "P" oriented to rear with muzzle up. Checkered hammer, left side only safety, slide release, short grip safety, short trigger. Arched mainspring housing with serrated pattern and lanyard loop. Left side of slide with two line two block Colt patent information and address information with intercepting pony. Barrel with "COLT 45 AUTO" on lower left side of breech and "P" on left lug, "7" in front of lug. Coltwood stocks. Extra magazine marked "COLT / 45 AUTO / 8 -RD" with "C" and Rampant Colt. CONDITION: Very good, retaining the vast majority of the reparkerized finish with some marks at reciprocating areas from operation and some handling marks throughout. Common takedown mark. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is good with strong rifling. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter listing the gun as shipping with 5" barrel and blue finish to the Transporation Officer at the Springfield Ordnance Depot for the Commanding Officer in a shipment of 1000.
