This is a very interesting gun. The parts were made in Germany then sent to England where they were finished by Vickers LTD. for the Dutch army. Then it went to the Dutch East Indies. Captured by the Japanese in February of 1942. That might explain the Chrysanthemum and the Japanese characters that are on this gun. It has British proof marks on the barrel, but the barrel is not original to this gun. Captured in Vietnam and then sent back to the United States in 1971. It is listed on the capture papers by serial number. It is a mismatched gun and not safe to fire. The brass plate has a partial unit mark of "a-Res. A??". The side plate has been repaired and is laminated together. A gun that has a very interesting past. CONDITION; Like most of these guns that came out of the East Indies this gun is in poor condition. It would be a representative piece only with a great history. REW
