Lot consists of: (A) Colt 1849 Pocket percussion revolver with case. Made 1853. "ADDRESS SAML COLT/NEW-YORK CITY" pattern date on top of the barrel, and "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame. Serials on the butt, trigger guard, frame, loading assembly and cylinder all match. Octagonal barrel with brass bead front sight. Blued finish on the frame and barrel. Grip straps are brass. Varnished, walnut grips. Includes French language book that has been cut out to case the revolver. Inside the case includes the bullet mold, powder flask and cap tin (empty). CONDITION: Metal retains little to none of its original finish with some signs of polish and cleaning. Grips are very good with a few handling marks and gouges. Bore is poor with fair rifling left. Tight hammer and cylinder. Timing is good. Nipples show signs of heavy use. 1 chamber is missing its nipple. Mechanically operable. Book/case is fair, accessories are very good. (B) Colt Model 1849 Pocket percussion revolver with case. Made 1861. "ADDRESS COL SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA" pattern date on top of the barrel, and "COLTS/PATENT" on the left side of the frame. Serials on the butt, trigger guard, frame, loading assembly and cylinder all match. Revolver has been completely refinished. Octagonal barrel with brass bead front sight. Blued finish on the barrel with a case hardened frame. Grip straps are silver plated brass. Varnished, walnut grips. Includes book that has been cut out to case the revolver. Inside the case includes the bullet mold, powder flask cap tin (empty) and a handful of lead balls. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its reapplied finish. Grips is clean overall with excellent rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Timing and lockup are good. Nipples are excellent. Book/case are very good, as are the accessories. JWA
