Colt rough finish that turns an iconic dark color over time and is referred to as a "Black Army". Half moon front sight, U notch flat top beveled rear sight. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block patent and address information with intercepting pony. Right side of slide with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY". H subinspector mark at top of firing pin retaining plate channel. Barrel with "H P" parallel to bore, "C" on left lug, "5" in front of lug. Frame with "G" and "H" subinspectors on top of bridle, near disconnector hole. "(Eagle) / S17" inspector mark on left side of frame. Checkered spur hammer, left side safety, slide release with relief mill cut, magazine release. Long milled trigger, short 1911 grip safety. Smooth flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop. 2 tone magazine with double pinned base and lanyard loop. CONDITION: Fine, retaining the vast majority of the Colt rough finish with some normal marks throughout, including a minor takedown mark. Some silvering pings at high edges and mixing with patina at front and back straps. Magazine is in commensurate condition with some old oxidation. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent with strong rifling. EW
