Savage Revolving Firearms Co. Navy Model Revolver. Exhibition grade, engraved with unique detachable shoulder stock. Typical "New York" style engraving featuring foliate scrollwork with punch dot backgrounds. Nickel plated with 2-piece rosewood grips. Detachable shoulder stock marked: "ALSOP PAT" within a shield on top of frame. Number "2" stamped on bottom of stock frame. .36 caliber percussion with 6 shot round cylinder. 7-1/8" octagon barrel. Revolver top strap marked in 3 lines: "SAVAGE R.F.A. CO. MIDDLETON. CT./H.S. NORTH PATENTED JUNE 17 1856/JANUARY 18 1859 MAY 15 1860". Serial number 14304 observed on back of cylinder and on the frame inside right grip panel. CONDITION: Excellent overall with 95% original nickel remaining. Bore is excellent showing minimum abrasion. Action is tight and indexes correctly. Wood is excellent showing modest wear. -MKS-
