Dated 1945. Classic configuration with distinct lengthened slide release and truncated diamond grips. Trigger, slide release, safety, frame, slide, grip safety, and mainspring housing numbered to match. Barrel numbered to a different gun. On close examination, serial number is a factory renumber from 31495 to 31496, likely an error caught and corrected on the line as stamping appears to have been done at same time as rest of number. CONDITION: Very good, retaining much of the phosphate finish with some marks from handling and use. Some silvering at high edges and reciprocating areas. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore has soft rifling and frosting throughout and a few areas of pitting. EW
