Frame manufactured 1952. Serrated slope front sight, square notch rear sight. Left side of slide with 2 line 2 block Government model rollmark with intercepting "COLT" and pony at rear of legends. Right side with "COLT'S MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." with "PROPERTY OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK" underneath. Barrel with ".45 AUTO / 7791193". Right lug with "SW" left with "M P". Chamber polished. Early checkered slide stop with relief mill cut underneath. Narrow serrated hammer, safety, magazine release, and short trigger. Arched serrated mainspring housing. Long 1911A1 grip safety. Black composite grips. 250 guns are known to have shipped to New York for the New York Guard between the serial numbers 246799-C to 247464-C in 1950. CONDITION: Good. Gun has been refinished in a thin layer of grey parkerization that has rubbed in a few places. Some normal marks from handling and operation. Fit of the gun is rough and occasionally needs additional force to operate. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with sharp rifling and little evidence of use. EW
