Lot consists of: (A) Colt 1860 Army percussion revolver. Made 1862. 4-screw model being able to attach a shoulder stock. Round, steel barrel with patent dates removed upon refinishing. Filed down front sight. Serial numbers on the barrel and frame are matching. Other serial numbers lost when refinished. Serial number on cylinder does not match. Reblued metal components with custom scroll engraving on the barrel, cylinder, frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its reapplied finish with light wear and handling marks. Bore is shiny with crisp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Nipples show signs of little use. Mechanically fine with good timing. (B) Smith & Wesson Model No. 3 2nd Model single action revolver. Made 1872-1874. Round, steel barrel with top rib. Rib is marked with the standard patent dates and company address. Original finish has worn to a dull grey patina. Custom, scroll engraving work on the barrel, cylinder, and frame. Grips are aftermarket fake ivory. CONDITION: Metal retains little of its original finish with most areas worn to a grey patina. Grips are very good with light wear. Bore is frosted with some pitting throughout the middle section. Tight hammer. Cylinder needs retimed. Frame latch is loose. Mechanically operable, but needs work to function 100% correctly. JWA

CORRECTION: Upon further review, Gun (A) in this lot is not a Colt 1860 Army made in 1862 but a later copy. The proof marks have been filed off and a divot is underneath the rammer. Gun (B) is not aftermarket engraved but period engraved, likely New York engraved. The grips are real ivory that have had a black backing affixed to strengthen the grips after they broke horizontally through the escutcheon.
