Lot consist of: (A) Belgian Flobert style single shot pistol. Made circa 1880's in Belgium as a gallery type pistol. Belgian proofs on the left side of the barrel, near the chamber. Octagon barrel with blade front sight and v-notch rear. Action as a reapplied nickel finish, with a reapplied blued finish on the barrel. Wood stock has a heavy lacquered finish with checkering on the wrist and grip. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of its reapplied finishes with minor handling marks. Wood is excellent. Overall clean bore with sharp rifling. Mechanically fine. (B) Colt Model 1855 Sidehammer "Root Model" percussion revolver. Made 1859. Barrel marked "ADDRESS SAML COLT/NEW YORK CITY". Cylinder is marked with standard patent date. Serial number in script on the butt and on the cylinder are matching. Octagon barrel with cylinder bead front sight. Polished metal finish with engraving on the barrel and frame. Rose wood grip. CONDITION: Metal shows signs of cleaning and polish. Grips have heavy wear and look to have been sanded down. Bore has light pitting, but does retain good overall rifling. Hammer is tight. Cylinder is out of timing and is not lining up with its chamber. Nipples have signs of heavy use. Mechanically operable, but will need work to be in firing condition. JWA
