Springfield Model 1861 rifled musket converted to cartridge using the Miller Breech Loading Conversion developed by William and George Miller of West Meriden, Connecticut with conversion performed by Meriden Manufacturing Co., Meriden, Connecticut between 1865 and 1867. "In-the-white" rifled barrel with blade front sight and blued flip rear sight. Case hardened lock dated 1864 with "US Springfield" marking. Conversion case hardened and marked with Millers patent and Meriden factory address. Walnut wood stock with iron furniture including 2 barrel bands. Small illegible cartouche at base of tang of trigger guard. Comes with original steel ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good with some parts looking to have been cleaned. Wood has traces of original finish with some light marks. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
