Imperial Japanese Papa Nambu manufactured by Tokyo Arsenal at Koishikawa between 1903-1929. Koishikawa arsenal stamp present above chamber, with Kanji characters denoting the type on either side of the frame. Matching numbers include the frame, barrel & barrel extension, locking block, bolt, striker tab, cocking knob, recoil spring, magazine catch, checkered wood grips, and magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain fair amounts of their arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting wear and scattered areas of pitting all around. Worn areas exhibit a pleasing brown patina. Arsenal stampings are sharp. Bore is bright, showing some small areas of light oxidation and retaining nice, well defined rifling throughout. Checkered wood grips exhibit smoothing to the checkering, as well as some minor losses. Interior of left grip panel shows some minor flaking towards the top. -MLW-
