Harpers Ferry Model 1816 musket dated 1836 and converted to percussion. 42" round barrel in .69 caliber smoothbore with no rear sight and blade front on forward most barrel band with bayonet lug further on barrel toward muzzle. Markings include "5" on each barrel band retaining spring, lock screws, and buttplate screws with "o" on top of barrel bands buttplate tang, and lock screw plate. Outside of lock marked "(Eagle) / US" in front of cock with "HARPERS" / "FERRY" / "1838" written vertically behind cock. 1 piece iron mounted walnut stock in 3 band musket configuration with full length ramrod and sling swivels at second band and trigger guard. CONDITION: Good with in the white finish turning a mottled, brown-gray patina with scattered marks from cleaning and handling as well as light pitting throughout. Stock has been sanded with finish added. Large crack at lock plate that appears to have been fixed at one point but is now "live." Slight chip at wrist near breech tang screw. Action works appropriately. Bore is good with modest abrasion. -TN-
