Springfield Model 1861 percussion rifled musket with 40" barrel in .58 caliber with military folding leaf rear sight, adjustable for elevation and blade front. 1 piece plain walnut stock in 3 barrel band configuration complete with sling swivels at 2nd band and trigger guard, military "US" marked buttplate, and full length cleaning rod, possibly the original. Markings include "(Eagle)" with "U.S." / SPRINGFIELD" forward of cock with "1861" behind cock. CONDITION: Very good as cleaned and restored to proper "polished bright" finish with light pitting and handling marks throughout. Stock has been sanded and restored with modest wear and no visible cracks or repairs. Action works correctly and is tight. Bore is good with visible rifling and abrasion toward muzzle. -TN-
