Colt Model 1877 Lightning double action revolver. Made 1903. Top of the barrel marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG.Co./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.", with "COLT. D.A. 38" marked on the left side. Patent dates on the left side of the frame, in front of a rampant Colt pony. Matching serials on the frame, trigger guard, and butt. Round, steel barrel with half-moon front sight. Original blued finish worn to a nice patina in most areas. Brown hard rubber factory Colt grips with checkering. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish, forming a nice patina in most areas. Grips have wear and scratches. Bore has some minor pitting halfway through, with good overall rifling. Hammer and cylinder show some looseness. Timing and lockup are fair. Mechanically operable. JWA
