First series Type 14 Nambu manufactured at the Toriimatsu Branch of Nagoya Arsenal in April of 1943. Large style trigger guard, with grooved cocking knob, and two piece serrated wood grip panels. Small components such as the trigger, safety lever, magazine catch, etc. are salt blued and not strawed, which is appropriate for Type 14 pistols manufactured at the Toriimatsu factory. Matching numbers include the frame, barrel extension, bolt, locking block, firing pin, firing pin extension, cocking knob, trigger guard, magazine catch, magazine, as well as both serrated wood grips. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original salt blued finish, exhibiting some minor cosmetic wear from cycling of the action, with some minute scratches to the finish from handling and storage. There is a small loss to the finish on the underside of the barrel, a faint drag line on the frame from operation of the safety lever, and some light wear to the front of the trigger guard bow. Bolt face appears to show no evidence of having ever been fired. Internal components are coated in large amounts of what is likely their arsenal cosmoline, with the exterior exhibiting areas of dried cosmoline. Near mint bore, with well defined lands and grooves throughout. Serrated wood grips, show few minor handling marks. An exemplary, unfired, specimen of a World War II Toriimatsu produced Type 14 Nambu pistol. -MLW-
