Colt 1860 Army Richards Conversion single action revolver. These revolvers were made from 1873-1878 and saw extensive use in the American West. The conversion consisted of adding an ejector rod and a breech plate (with loading gate, rear sight, and rebounding firing pin machined in) as well as fitting of a new cylinder. This example has a 5" round barrel in .44 Centerfire with 1 piece walnut grips. Revolver is marked with "A" on left of barrel as well as front as well as the front of the trigger guard denoting inspection by none other than O.W. Ainsworth. Other markings include "U.S." on left of barrel, "B" on bottom of barrel, "H" on frontstrap near trigger guard rear, and "D" on backstrap near hammer. Serial number is 112333 with conversion assembly number "379" stamped on bottom of grip strap, trigger guard, frame, breech plate, loading gate, cylinder arbor, cylinder, barrel, wedge, ejector rod yoke, and a second time on the barrel between ejector rod yoke and rear of barrel. CONDITION: Fair to good, with virtually all of the original finish turned to a dove-gray patina with light pitting throughout on metal assemblies. Brass trigger guard has been cleaned and polished bright. Grips are heavily worn with no visible cartouche and large dents on left grip panel. Action works correctly and locks tightly. Bore is dark with sharp rifling. If this revolver could talk, I'm sure it would have some amazing stories. -TN-

CORRECTION: After further inspection, it has been found that the barrel on this revolver is cut down and a non-factory front sight has been added.
