Mauser 496 single barrel trap shotgun. Made in Italy 1973. Marketed and sold by Mauser of Germany. Round, steel smooth bore barrel with a wide, trap style full vent rib. Dual bead sights. Blued finish on the barrel with a case hardened finish on the frame. Nice scroll engraving on the frame. Serials on the barrel, forearm and frame all match. Gloss finish wood stocks with checkering on the wrist and fore arm. Rubber butt pad has possibly been added. Full choke bore, 2 - 3/4" barrel. Not a release trigger! CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its original finish with light wear and a few handling marks. Wood is excellent. Bore is shiny. Mechanically fine. JWA
